From
teenage years, Heather started her career in singing in her hometown
of Drymen, just beside Loch Lomond. Heather formed a singing group at
her university, Craigie Campus in Ayr, which offered a diverse and
up-beat sound to choir music. She immersed herself in the trade of
karaoke in Ayrshire where she enjoyed Karaoke’s on a nightly basis.
Heather learned the aspects of a night that made them successful,
fun and brought people back each week.
During the summer
of 2000, Heather started hosting a range of social events in Dante’s
bar where she held a part time job. These included regular karaoke’s,
charity fundraising auctions, Greek parties, summer cocktail sessions
and Hawaiian dance nights. Heather promoted both drinks promotions
and encouraged the crowd to fully participate in all the events that
the night offered.
During the summer of 2004, she got
her first big break in the karaoke industry. A meeting with the
Codona family in Ayrshire, when they first opened a new 3-level bar
in Ayr High Street called Suburbia, presented the opportunity with
she relished. Heather ran the Quiz Night every Wednesday, Karaoke
competitions every Thursday night and a Family Karaoke every Sunday
afternoon. Alongside the motivation for customers to win prizes,
competitions and participate with their own family in singing,
Heather drew in a large crowd whom followed the nights each week and
regularly fed back to management how much they enjoyed
themselves.
In the following few years whist working for
the Codona family, Heather was also involved in several fundraising
events, using her enthusiastic comparing to auction off staff and
prizes to the customers and generate support for local charities.
Heather was also presented with opportunities in additional Cadona
family establishments, such as Lomond Park near her home
town.
Heather has spent the following year upgrading all of
her karaoke equipment to the latest technology, to ensure the highest
sound quality available. Her music collection includes 70,000 karaoke
tracks and all the hits necessary to provide popular backing music.
Heather has also invested in the use of additional hardware; 2
products from TC Helicon (http://www.tc-helicon.com/)
- ‘voice tone correct’ and ‘voice live’ to add exceptional
quality to the voice and additional affects for studio quality in the
live environment.
After moving to the south side of Glasgow in
2007, Heather looked for a local place that she could bring her
enthusiasm and talents to. She can now be found as the Social
Convenor in a local village recreation club in Carmunnock. Heather
has organised, promoted and ran a series of social events including
karaoke’s, quizoke’s, poker nights, play your card right, race
nights and a Mexican party. The support for the nights has almost
doubled from past years and all customers feel part of the evenings
and can be seen fully participating at the events.
Currently,
Heather is working alongside dance music producer ‘Mr Hajika’, as
a live vocalist. To date, ‘Mr Hajika’ has had music released on
record labels all over the world.
Heather hosts karaoke,
quiz and party nights throughout Glasgow, East Kilbride and Paisley.
On a weekly basis she hosts an interactive quiz, karaoke and party
nights at The Exchange East Kilbride.
The interactive
quiz consists of 4 rounds; current news, general knowledge, music
video round and a weekly challenger that tests a range of different
skills including countdown, video observations, famous people and
characters and classic symbols such as car manufacturers. Mega local
prizes and definitely worth a group entry!
The karaoke is
always a party night including crazy dance tunes and crazy karaoke!!
The latest equipment and spectacular sound system in The Exchange
makes you sound like a professional recording artist. With theme
nights at the beginning of each month you are guaranteed a great
night to dress up, sing and dance :)
